* We found this little guy under the porch yesterday. I’m scared of frogs/toads. And worms. And slugs. And snails. I’m absolutely fine with spiders and snakes though.
* I don’t get on my yoga mat every day. I don’t even aim to. I try for five times a week max.
* Sometimes I feel guilty about the above. So I try to practice yoga off the mat every single day.
* I used to smoke. I know!!!! I can’t believe it either but to this day if I pass someone smoking the smell makes me miss it.
* I swear like a trooper.
* The smell of bacon makes my mouth water.
* It might not always seem so from this blog but sometimes I have truly terrible days.
* I secretly love Bryan Adams (there I said it). Who couldn’t love The Summer of ‘69?

Speaking of Friday’s Post the lovely Tiffany quoted that post in her blog. Tiffany I am honuored! Everyone else, check out Tiffany’s blog!

Ahhh the smell of bacon makes my mouth water too! And every time it does I feel huge pangs of guilt! Phew – glad I’m not the only one!
I probably STILL know by heart almost every word to every song off that Bryan Adams album. I even saw him in concert when I was about 14 and loved every minute of it.
And I also used to smoke!! Although the smell of it now makes me nauseous.
Oh, how cute is the little froggie!
I quite secretly like Bryan Adams too. Believe it or not he came to Hobart about 15 years ago (!), and he was in his van going into the Derwent Entertainment Centre to set up/rehearse, and my parents car pulled up next to him! He looked at me and smiled, and I smiled and waved! Was totally floored!!
Nice one. It’s so important for people to understand that yoga teachers aren’t perfected beings, just because they’ve decided to engage in teaching others about yoga. People are constantly evolving and changing (and we all have some really terrible days), and so it is with yoga.
Also, I’m unashamedly a non-vegetarian and do my bit of swearing although I feel fortunate that with all the swimming I did as a child, I never got into smoking (phew!).
Nice post!
Speaking of spiders, I hated them. Well, not “hated”, but “scared of”, more like. I couldn’t get near one, no way. And yesterday the weirdest thing happened: I spotted a tiny spider in my kitchen (girl know where to find the good stuff), and instead of freaking out, I TALKED to that little one. Me, of all people. I guess it was my “off the mat” practice of the day
I don’t like Bryan Adams, sorry, I’m more of indie chick. However, I do own Justin Timberlake’s latest album. No shame. Yup.
You know I used to smoke too! Insane how we change!
I dislike dislike large insects of any kind; living in the hot south it is hard to stay away from them. And Snakes too!
I try to practice 6 days a week; but I’ve began to remember the first limb of yoga; Ahimsa- non-harming to others and myself. I am listening more to my inner teacher now more than ever!
I am bad about swearing too….my husband never does; I am the one with the bad mouth! lol
P.S Emmanuel- I love all kinds of music from Tool to Ani to Drive by Truckers…but definitely like all of Justin Timberlake’s stuff!
The smell of bacon makes my mouth water too!
ah i am so happy to read this. sometimes yogis seem like they are living on a different level but reading something like this makes people realize that yogis are human too.
love this!! hugs!!
Summer of ‘69 is my favourite song in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD!
very well said, every time i listen, it make me feel to meditate
Congrats on quitting smoking!! Nobody said you weren’t allowed to miss it
I haven’t smoked in years and years, and yet sometimes the craving feels as strong as the day I quit. It’s extremely weird!
What a cute little frog.
When I go back to England to visit my folks, my husband and I go on a frog hunt and check out all the little guys that go unseen in the garden. We actually have 3 leopard frogs, right now, that are closely related to the British frogs you find everywhere during the spring/summer. Looking at them reminds me of home.
Oh I love Bryan too
I saw him live in Cape Town about 12 years ago – awesome! ‘Here I am’ makes me go weak at the knees, and everywhere else too.
x
I love Bryan Adams:o) I think snakes are awesome…they don’t bother me one bit…but spiders creep me out…anything with lots of legs, actually…uhhh *shudder*
D
I will take an encounter with a frog, worm, or snail any day before a spider or snake. During my first level 1 teacher training, part of my breakthrough was to not freak out when I saw a spider. My training was in the mountains of Big Island, HI where there are spiders everywhere. Big and hairy ones, long legs, black eyes, and creepy crawly ones. I’m happy to report that I stood at macro level one morning to get a snap shot of a beautiful (yes, I said beautiful) yellow bellied spider sitting in her glistening web doing me no harm. Quick snap and I ran in the opposite direction LOL
Thanks for this post! We need posts like this! I don’t get on my mat every day either – my goal is 6 days per week but that almost never happens. I think the goal inspires me more than it guilts me, so I don’t mind it. I used to smoke too, and I still swear like a trooper. I kind-of want to work on that, but I kind-of don’t
All of these Bryan Adams comments had me giggling out loud! And what is it about the bug/creature posts these days? Eco Yogini and liveloveyoga have similar photos (and links to photos) right now. Too funny.
PS Now I’m the one who feels honored – thanks so much for the link!!!!
mmm bacon! Don’t worry i’m a big bryan adams fan too!
