things i love thursday (17)

The more I see the less I know
The more I like to let it go…
(Anthony Kiedis)

*  My yoga mat.  I’ve had it forever.  And I certainly need a new one.  It’s worn and dirty, it’s lost most of it’s grip and has holes that the cat has scratched in it.  I’m also pretty sure it’s made with the dreaded PVC.  But it’s pink and I love it and when my back is so sore that it feels as though a swarm of bees is living in my sacrum I can lie on my yoga mat with my knees bent and my eyes closed and everything slips back into perspective.  I may or may not have issues with attachment, I’m pretty sure I’ve gone on about this filthy mat before!

* Listening to a song you’ve heard a million times and suddenly it making you sit up and think (hence the lyrics at the start of this post – bonus points to those who know the song without googling).

* The fact that “googling” a perfectly acceptable word now without having anything to do with eyes like this.

* Making decisions.  Amongst them being the decision to stop stressing about a current situation and ride it out.  See what happens.  I’m too full of what might be and not full enough of what is.  That must change.

* Babs at Juice Pilates.  A fabulous American Lady I met at the weekend who has opened a Reformer Pilates studio in Cambridge.  Cambridge readers, go to the link and check her out.  She’s got new starter offers on!

Happy Thursday everyone!

I love using the world “google” it is my response to most of my husbands questions. “How do you make vegetarian shepherds pie” “How do you spell ______” “When does this movie come out?”

And I am so overly- insanely attached to my mat…probably not a very yogic thing lol.

I’m super attached to my mat, too. And, the wonderful husband, all on his own, got me a Manduka black mat for Christmas. How cool is that? Sad part is that I haven’t used it yet. I’m scared to get it dirty! I’m a dork.

Thanks for the things you love Thursdays. Very sweet. I always feel such a sense of accomplishment when I make it to Thursday!

  5. I love the change of seasons, blossoming flowers and the smell after a fresh rain in the Spring. I love the promise of a new day. I love that I found yoga, and I’m happy I found you ;-)

i love my mat, too. it’s not falling apart completely yet, but pieces are starting to come away… um.

My mat also has little claw mark patterns in it, which always make me smile when I’m doing a pose that causes me to look downwards ;)

I love that you say “at the weekend” and spell “honoured” (and other such words) with a “u” in it! I have always wished we’d kept with that “u” thing in the U.S. :) I also love “things i love thursdays” and quite look forward to them.

I had a biodegradable eco-mat for many years that constantly biodegraded all over me during class. I literally wore it OUT. How I loved that mat. I miss that mat.
