things i love thursday (19)

*  Sunshine.  It seems to be freakishly cold all over the northern hemisphere right now (it was -2*C in Cambridge last night, God help my pumpkins), but the sun is out so I musn’t complain.  I’d like to but I mustn’t.

*  Light evenings.  Whilst living this far north means short and not particularly long summers, it also means really light evenings.  I love not having to put the lights on until 9pm and I love the fact that we are nearly at that point where it never quite gets completely dark.

*  Sore abs.  Himself is on a health kick.  He’s spent most of the winter ill and stressed and is now on a mission to get back in shape.  He keeps coming home from the gym with agonisingly awful ab exercises he wants me to try.  This morning it hurts to laugh or sneeze.  Which I guess means it’s working.  The soreness doesn’t make me particularly happy but the results that the soreness will bring does! ;)

*  Flight of the Conchords, obviously.  They played a new song on Monday night called “Woo a Lady” which is a parody of a medieval madrigal.  I nearly stopped breathing from the laughter.  The guy sitting next to me recorded it (with the exception of the last two minutes or so) and if you didn’t see it on my Facebook page here it is again.  You can hear my cackling in the background, for which I apologise.

*  Laughter.  The best medicine for when two political parties with conflicting views, neither of whom I voted for, decide to run the country together.  Several of you have asked me to clarify just what on earth is going on in the UK.   That’s about as clear as I can get.  It’s almost too bizarre to understand.  I am tired of seeing David Cameron (new Prime Minister and leader of Conservative (ie right wing) party) and Nick Clegg (new deputy Prime Minister and leader of Liberal Democrat (ie meant to be left of centre, clearly not) party), walking about London together giving speeches acting all buddy buddy like lovers skipping through a meadow. So watch Conchords, laugh and pretend it’s not happening I say.
