As an antidote to the ridiculous football fever I made Himself take me to the Country Fair yesterday.  And it was awesome.

There were donkeys called Patrick and Oliver.

Sheep were sheared, pigs slept, baby goats were cute, Suffolk Punch working horses pulled stuff and there was an alpaca!

There were medieval times….

Red Knight going down…. down, down down….

There were birds of prey.

And there was food.  Himself had pies filled with animal.  I had caramelised vodka which tastes like Baileys without the cream.  Vegan Baileys! :)

Tonight the Straylian soccer team (not footie, Australian footie is something quite different involving violence and few rules) play Germany.  I make no comment ;)

Do you know that a whole bunch of people in Australia stayed up to watch that game? I know, coz I read all of the gnashing of teeth via my Twitter stream :)

Love fairs! My ex-fiancé (of many years past) used to do that kind of re-enactment stuff. And I once got the chance to hold a bird like that first one.

And I LOVE Patrick and Oliver :)

  5. that must be the cleanest county fair I’ve seen.

  6. The fair! This takes me back to middle and high school. The county fair was 5 minutes away and we cruised it every year. It always came around RIGHT before school started again and provided us with a way to check each other out to see who had gotten cuter/etc. over the summer. LOL.
