Exciting stuff! Hip openers are my yoga nemesis! :-)

My favourite hip opener (at least I think it’s a hip opener) is half pigeon; it’s the only one I know of that I can really relax into to the point of feeling comfortable, in fact I could sit there all day, I’m sure!

    reclining pigeon!

Is Balasana, Child’s Pose, a hip opener? That would be my favourite hip opener in that case! I’m not a big fan of half pigeon, I’m not sure I’m doing it right, it’s never that comfortable…

hip openers – love ‘em / hate ‘em – always makes me present :)

I have to agree my favorite is reclining pigeon. I love the surrender quality to this pose and its one I can really allow myself to be in for a good few minutes, breathing deeping into the areas of tension

    <3 hip openers!
My favourite poses would be the lungewithforearmsonthefloorasana (no idea what it's called) and agnistambhasana (fire log or double pigeon).
<3 hip openers! (oh wait, already said that…)

firelog or double pigeon with forward fold…. yummers.

Oh hip openers! I love them all. Pigeon is amazing and probably my favourite of all, though I am partial to gomukhasana as well. I think I may have even managed King Pigeon once or twice :)

i’ve been having a lot of problems with my hips as of recent. while i truly love hip openers they are a bit more difficult for me these days, but i still plug away at them. :)

the most challenging ones for me right now (but that i still love) are firelog and seated wide-legged forward fold.

no matter what state my hips are in i will never give up hip openers :)

    big hugs,
    melita

I absolutely adore child’s pose, warrior II and lotus for opening up my hips. :)
Pigeon is also wonderful, but I think there is something in the nature and simplicity of child’s pose that makes it my ultimate favourite! I have never been able to completely put my finger on why, but why question a good thing?

Its quite some time since I practiced yoga, and I didn’t get far, just some simple streching poses that were’t too demanding but felt nice to me. I’m starting again as I’ve missed it since I stopped. Is the elephant posture a hip opener? It feels like it. I love this posture, it combines a sense of being connected to the earth and a freeing up of the body. It just feels lovely to me.
