melbourne, briefly

I started the week in Melbourne with a Kinesiology session with Kerry.  Not only is Kerry absolutely lovely but the session was AMAZING!! I cannot stress this enough.  If you live in or around Melbourne go see her.

After the session we met up with Nadine for lunch.

Kerry, Nadine, Me!

Don’t you love the internet?  Depsite never having met Kerry or Nadine before we seemed to know a scary amount about each other!

Tuesday started pretty cloudy.  In true British style we went to beach!  With threats of rain, a pier and pavillion it was almost like being back in the UK (where I understand it’s 24 degrees and sunny – typical!)

It cleared up in the afternoon so we took a wander through the Botanical Gardens.  It may or may not have become clear to you, dear reader, that Himself and I are obsessed with Botanical Gardens!

Melbourne Botanics has a particular place in my heart as it was the very first place I ever visited in Australia.  When I first came out with my dad in 1987, we had a day to kill before flying down to Hobart.  I don’t think either of us had ever experienced jetlag before and the Botanics was a soothing place to try to relax.

I finished up my Tuesday at one of Nadine’s lovely yoga classes whilst Himself climbed the SkyDeck in Eureka Tower on the 88th Floor – 300m in the air – he has some amazing photos from up there, but you won’t catch me that high!

Today it rained a lot.  A perfect day for catching up with old, old friends drinking coffee and visiting the art gallery.

Finally, another “Name That Bird” competition.  What is this?

How wonderful to be able to turn a ‘virtual’ friendship into a ‘real life’ one!! great shot! Nadine has cut her hair!?

And in NZ we call those Pukekos – not sure if the Aussies do too.

I’ve been meaning to comment for ages to say I love your blog, but what’s finally stirred me to into action is that I want to tell you what that bird is! It’s….drumroll….a swamp hen.
