… I give you 37 things I have learned.
you are never to old to receive Disney toys for your birthday
1. Life is too short to fly economy
2. If a relationship is meant to be it will just be. Stop fretting about how many times he hasn’t texted you.
3. The best cure for imsomnia is sea air.
4. Some days will suck ass and that’s OK.
5. Freedom always has a price.
6. Everything in life is a matter of perspective.
7. Exfoliate regularly.
8. There is something very healing about the presence of cats.
9. Your faith will find you in the end.
10. Broken hearts mend and time heals. Some things are cliches for a reason.
11. Always go to funerals, no matter how much it costs to get there.
12. Get counselling.
13. Never argue with anyone about religion or politics … likewise homeopathy.
14. Fake it until you make it.
15. At the end of the day nobody gives a shit about your degree.
16. Take the time to do your hair and put on lipstick every day, no matter how crap you feel.
17. Yoga saves souls, Pilates saves bodies previously damaged from overenthusiastic asana (it pains me to write it, but it’s true).
18. There is little in life that cannot be helped by eating cake.
19. Eat cake, regularly.
20. “There’s always something new to fall in love with”
21. A good smile is worth more than you know. Clean your teeth four times a day, floss twice, always use mouthwash.
22. The Rapture is unlikely to happen.
23. Try everything once (just in case I’m wrong about the Rapture).
24. If your job makes you miserable, quit.
25. Sadly, your mother is usually right.
26. Take a deep breath and count to ten.
27. Stretch everyday.
28. Meditate even if you don’t think you’re doing it properly. You probably are.
29. Start each day with positive affirmations. End it with a gratitude list.
30. The older you get the less you care about what other people think.
31. Have a firm handshake.
32. Be kind.
33. Try not to worry, things have a habit of working out for the best in the end.
34. Be careful what you wish for, it just might come true.
35. Dance around your living room, sing into your hairbrush.
36. That stuff about sunscreen? Bullshit. Vitamin D is far more important.
37. All you need is love. Oh, and maybe cake. Love and cake.

Great list! I especially agree about the cake.
Happy Birthday!
A most excellent and wise list.
Happy, happy, happy day!
Fantastic!! All of them true
Happy birthday darling xxxx
I hope you have a wonderful day! I continue to enjoy reading your blog. Thank you so much!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY RACHEL! have a wonderful day. Loved reading your list xo
OMG, love it, love it, love it! I can’t decide which one I loved the most! 13 maybe. Or 22 & 23. LOL. Have a great b’day tomorrow!
Happy birthday, Lady Yogini of the Neighbours Love!
Excellent list, although I can’t quite resist adding commentary to some of your points…
3. The best cure for imsomnia is sea air. // Or Yoga Nidra.
8. There is something very healing about the presence of cats. // That’d be the purring vibrating at the center of your being and enforcing relaxation, surrender.
16. Take the time to do your hair and put on lipstick every day, no matter how crap you feel. // Lipstick and yoga? Ewww! No thanks!
17. Yoga saves souls, Pilates saves bodies previously damaged from overenthusiastic asana (it pains me to write it, but it’s true). // Ahhh, we all need to learn to stop pushing our limits in yoga so damn much!
24. If your job makes you miserable, quit. // Just gave this advice yesterday. There’s always reasons to keep a crappy job but there’s nothing like quitting and finding yourself somewhere better/nicer etc.
25. Sadly, your mother is usually right. // Unless she’s a narcissist, a sociopath or otherwise mal-adjusted.
31. Have a firm handshake. // Wet fish handshakes are a turn off, from both men and women.
33. Try not to worry, things have a habit of working out for the best in the end. // They really do. I have this feeling that I no longer get jobs unless: a) I really need them; or b) they’re the right job for me (low stress, no nasty people). Sometimes you’ve just gotta take the leap and not worry about where the net is.
Happy birthday Rachel, you wise woman
I loved your 37 things, especially the love an cake
Have a wonderful day!
Happy belated birthday!!
And I so definitely agree with #1, even if it means I can’t ever afford to fly anywhere!
I hope you had a wonderful day!
LOVE this list! Although the sunscreen thing is kind of important if you, like me, burn to a crisp at the merest suggestion of a sunbeam.
It’s all relative, right?
Happy birthday!
