February Fashion Weeks showcased what we can expect to see this spring and summer. If you want to be stylish and up-to-date this coming season, then you need to get inspired by some of our top picks from the recent fashion weeks in London, Milan, Paris and New York.
We’ve rounded up some of our favorite street savvy looks that are going to be big trends this spring and summer. So get ready to update your wardrobe with the following must-have styles.
1- The new biker short
Last year the cycling short made a short appearance, but never really took off because it still looked like a biker short. But this year the biker short has been reinvented into a stylish option that you will actually want to wear. Wear this style by opting for solid neutral tones and pair it with a blazer that hits below your bottom. Snitch your blazer with a belt to give you an hourglass figure.
2- Listen to your “animal” instincts
Animal prints took over all of our favorite street styles at fashion week this year. We loved how the loud leopard print dominated the show, popping up on a variety of garments such as jackets, blazers, dresses, suits and so much more. If you are ready to unleash your own jungle cat, then look for strong, bold designs that will shake up your style a little. If you opt for an all-over leopard print, just make sure not to mix up leopard prints.
3- The utilitarian jumpsuit
One design kept reappearing at each of the Fashion Week cities and that was a Utilitarian Boiler Jumpsuit. Even through it had sad beginnings, being designed as a protective work suit for men and women, we are positive it will have a bright future, as it is just as fashionable as it is functional. The best part is that they come in a wide variety of styles so you can choose the one that suits your style best.
4- Lavender scents
One of the most popular street style winners were the lavender trends that rocked all lavender shades known to womankind. Look for lavender-colored everything such as boots, skirts, dresses, jackets and accessories. Lavender will add a little touch of femininity to your style.
5- Puffy shoulders
The time is now to show the world that you are woman and proud of it, by saying goodbye to the minimal trend that is over with. Styled with bold fluffy ruffles and with pleated fabric that will make an oversized silhouette. We loved how this new trend as it gave off a spunky 80’s vibe to modern styles. Make sure you incorporate this style into your daytime and nighttime ensembles, but keep the rest of your look a little more toned up.
6- Punky Gothic
Do you have a dark side that you are ready to embrace? Street styles went all Neo-Gothic on us this year, giving us an ultra sexy look with a subtle touch of femininity. If you want to give this new trend a try, then pair black pieces together with a splash of color. Just remember to add a touch of red lipstick!
